I'm wondering if other photographers here have found that they lost some creativity as they learned more about technique?

My first two photography projects with people as the subject went well and were very well received her on dA. But, as I learned more about lighting and photography my images seemed to become more generic and of less interest to viewers. Now I just want to get back to creating, but my head seems to be filled with this other crap. Any thoughts on how to bring back that creativity, ideas to inspire me or challenges to help me break free?

I really appreciate any help that I can get!
